Archangel Raphael
Raphael is associated with the seraph, but also with the cherubim, dominations, and powers. He is a guardian angel and a master teacher. Many stories depict Raphael in teaching the art of binding demons into slave labor, or the casting out of demons known as exorcism.
Beside the role of guardian angel, Raphael is highly treasured for his assistance in the art of healing. In the book of Tobit he taught a young boy about medicine. He healed Jacob after Jacob was wounded in battle with another angel. Raphael is the patron of healers and medicine. One interpretation of the name Raphael is, “God has healed”.
Raphael also guides and protects the traveler. He brings great light, joy, love, knowledge and science to the physical realm through those he assists.
